DISTRICT 75 - STEM DEPARTMENT
District 75 AI Resource Hub
Your starting point for saving time, working smarter, and giving your students exactly what they need.
This space was built for educators who are curious about AI, unsure where to start, or maybe even a little nervous about trying something new. You don’t need to know anything ahead of time. This page will help you take your first steps, one at a time.
The hardest thing for anyone to look at is a blank page.
This page fixes that.
Why We're Doing This
Our District 75 AI Ethics Cohort is committed to promoting the safe, equitable, and thoughtful use of Artificial Intelligence across our unique educational community. We prioritize the principles of accessibility and inclusion, ensuring that AI tools are employed to meaningfully support the diverse needs and foster the independence of all students with disabilities. Our collective responsibility is to guide educators in navigating the ethical complexities of AI, focusing on data privacy, transparency, and mitigating bias to protect our student population. We foster a culture of continuous learning and critical evaluation, encouraging every teacher to share best practices and critically examine the impact of AI on learning and well-being. We strive to be catalysts for change, empowering District 75 teachers to utilize AI as a powerful, ethical force for personalized and positive student outcomes.

How We Use AI: The Ethical Guidelines
We follow simple, human-centered principles so AI becomes a tool that works with teachers, not instead of them.
The 80/20 Rule
(Credit to MagicSchool inspiring this approach.)
-
The AI handles the first 80 percent. This includes the structure, the wording, and the rough draft.
-
You finish the last 20 percent. This is where you add your voice, your students’ needs, and your professional judgment.
This keeps AI in its lane.
It makes the first step in any task easier by replacing the blank page with a clear foundation.
Human First. AI Second.
-
We decide. We adjust. We review. AI never replaces teacher thinking.
Protect Privacy. Protect Students.
-
We never put Personally Identifiable information (PII) into tools that train AI.
-
We use the tools for planning, drafting, creation
AI Is a Copilot, Not Autopilot
-
You’re the expert; AI is the assistant that helps you move more effectively
-
This page will never promote shortcuts that remove human judgment.
-
We’re here to support ethical, smart, impactful use.
How to Start: The Prompting Guide
One of the barriers teachers face is simply not knowing what to ask AI or how to phrase it. That is why we are putting our favorite beginner-friendly prompting tools right at the top. The hardest part is knowing where to begin, so this is your starting point:
-
“Anatomy of a Prompt” (PDF courtesy of Google AI Essentials)
-
Simple fill-in-the-blank prompts
-
Example prompts for lesson ideas, scaffolds, IEP support, visuals, and more
-
A printable one-pager for your desk or classroom
